Cleaning Your NOBULL Shoes

Daily workouts, mud, spills — life happens to your shoes. But with the right care, you can keep your NOBULL footwear looking and performing its best day in and day out. Here’s our step-by-step guide to cleaning all your favorite styles. Spoiler alert: resist the urge to toss them in the washer or dryer.

How to Clean NOBULL Textile Shoes

Aka, shoes made from mesh, knit, ripstop, canvas, MATRYX ®, and SuperFabric®. Our Outwork, Allday, Impact, Recs, Drive, and Journey collections are made with these materials.

What You’ll Need:
  • Mild, dye-free soap such as laundry or dish soap
  • Soft brush, such as a toothbrush, or a microfiber cloth
  • Sink or large bowl
  • Lukewarm water
  • Towel
  • Newspaper or paper towels
  • Dryer sheets or baking soda (optional but recommended to help eliminate odor)

How to Clean:
  1. Prep your shoes by removing any laces, liners and insoles. You can wash your laces with your next load of laundry or hand wash them. Wash using cold water and air dry.
  2. Remove excess dirt or mud from your shoes with your dry brush or cloth.
  3. Mix a small amount of soap into a sink or large bowl filled with lukewarm water.
  4. Gently scrub your shoes, including the insoles, with your brush or cloth and soapy water. Use a towel to remove dirty water and debris as you work.
  5. Rinse your shoes with lukewarm water or use a damp towel to remove any remaining soap. Do not fully submerge your shoes in water.
  6. Stuff your shoes with dry, crumpled newspaper or paper towels. Leave the insoles out to speed up drying. Bonus: add dryer sheets or baking soda for extra-fresh shoes.
  7. Let your shoes and insoles air dry indoors in a well-ventilated area, away from direct heat sources

How to Clean Leather NOBULL Shoes

While leather is very durable, you’ll want to clean your leather training and golf shoes differently than your textile NOBULL shoes.

  • Soft brush, such as a toothbrush, or a microfiber cloth
  • Lukewarm water
  • Sponge
  • Towel
  • Leather conditioner

How to Clean:

  1. Prep your shoes by removing any laces, liners and insoles. You can wash your laces with your next load of laundry or hand wash them. Wash using cold water and air dry.
  2. Remove excess dirt or mud from your shoes with your dry brush or cloth.
  3. Wet your sponge and add a small amount of soap.
  4. Gently scrub the leather with the soapy sponge, working into a lather and taking care not to scrub too hard.
  5. Remove excess soap and water using a clean, dry towel. Do not rinse your shoes under water or submerge them.
  6. Scrub your insoles with the soapy sponge and rinse clean.
  7. Let your shoes and insoles air dry indoors in a well-ventilated area, away from direct heat sources.
  8. Apply leather conditioner once your shoes are dry. Use your fingers or a cloth, adding a pea-size amount at a time and working in small circular motions. Let the conditioner sit for 5-10 minutes, and then use a cloth to remove any excess conditioner.

More Tips for Caring for Your Shoes

  • Do not put your shoes in the washing machine or dryer. Being fully submerged in water and exposed to heat can damage your shoes and alter their fit and performance.
  • Let your shoes fully dry after cleaning before wearing them again.
  • Apply protective spray to suede and leather styles to help prevent stains.
  • Periodically clean your shoes to help prevent the build-up of dirt and odor and reduce the cleaning time needed per session.
